Multilateral compensation

Successful collection of overdue claims is done through multilateral set-off or multilateral compensation system as the one organised by AJPES (Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Public Legal Records and Related Services).

What is multilateral compensation

Multilateral compensation is a way of closing the direct or indirect mutual financial obligations. Multilateral compensation facilitates mutual indebtedness of companies. The organiser of multilateral compensation in Slovenia is AJPES (Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Public Legal Records and Related Services)

How collection works

Once a month AJPES performs the multilateral set-off in which a bigger number of business subjects take part. They have lodged their liabilities to the suppliers. For customers who want to cash in the overdue claims to buyers in Slovenia through the Interfinance company, the AJPES system presents the simplest way of closing the claims. The efficiency of liquidisation in this case relies on the preparedness of buyers to actually lodge their liabilities. The service is specially suitable for import and service companies of several economic activities and sizes and those companies that have troubles in providing the current liquidity.

Advantages of multilateral compensation

  • targeted collection of overdue claims,
  • collection of claims of smaller values,
  • Fast access to liquid assets,
  • planned cashflow.
